FOR YOUR FIRST “COME OVER FOR DINNER”

Your menu.
A little breathing room.

The recipes look lovely. Now: can one cook, one small kitchen, and six hungry friends actually make them work?

We’re exploring My Menu Plan Check: a practical way to turn your chosen recipes into a dinner plan that shows its working—and leaves you time for the doorbell.

THE PART BETWEEN SAVING A RECIPE AND SERVING DINNER

Four tabs open.
One oven to go around.

A recipe tells you how to make one dish. Hosting asks you to coordinate all of them: quantities, prep, pan space, oven temperatures, and the moment your friends arrive. We’re testing whether a clearer plan can take that work off your plate.

01 / WHAT WE’RE PLANNING

My Menu Plan Check

Planned, not available yet

01

Keep the food you chose.

The idea starts with your own recipes and a dinner for 4–8. It would interpret quantities and steps, linking important facts to their source.

02

See the questions first.

Missing cook times, unclear servings or a tray that’s too small should be questions for you to confirm, rather than confident guesses.

03

Find room for the doorbell.

The planned check would look for one-cook and appliance clashes, then produce a usable prep plan and export, with conflicts explained.

This is the proposed product, not a current service. It would check consistency with confirmed inputs, not guarantee cooking outcomes or allergy safety.

02 / A LITTLE OF WHAT WE MEAN

A dinner with
a little give.

Roasted pepper & chickpea bowls, lemon couscous, cucumber crunch, and berry yogurt pots. One forgiving main, a kettle-made side, and dessert waiting in the fridge.

Illustrative fixed example for six people. It was not generated or verified by the planned checker. Try unfamiliar dishes before hosting and check guests’ dietary needs; this menu includes wheat and dairy.

SIX FRIENDS · ARRIVE 7:00 · EAT 7:30

The day before

Portion 720 g yogurt into covered dessert pots and refrigerate. Set out plates and bowls.

4:45 pm

Prep 720 g drained chickpeas and 750 g peppers/onion. Allow two oven batches on a 30 × 40 cm tray.

5:30–6:45

Roast sequential batches, about 35 minutes each plus a tray swap. A smaller tray or slower oven needs more time.

6:45 pm

Make 450 g dry couscous per packet directions. Chop two cucumbers. Keep dessert chilled. Set out clean serving spoons.

7:00 pm

Answer the door. Serve family style at 7:30; skip the fancy garnish if prep slips.

Keep chilled food at 4°C / 40°F or below. Refrigerate perishables within 2 hours, or 1 hour above 32°C / 90°F. The holding clock starts when the first batch leaves the oven. Food safety guidance

Would this make
your first table easier?

We’re testing interest before building the full product. Join the waitlist if a source-linked check of your own menu would help you host.

Nothing is for sale. Joining is interest, not an order or commitment to pay. No payment, recipe upload, account or immediate email is part of this test.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE A PLACE SET

Can I use Plan Check now?

No. This page is a test of the idea and a waitlist. The example is fixed and illustrative. You cannot upload recipes or receive a generated plan here yet.

Why this instead of a recipe app or chat?

Existing tools already help with menus and timelines. Our planned focus is source-linked interpretation, explicit unknowns you confirm, and checks for clashes before you rely on a plan. Whether that saves enough work is still to be tested.
